American Baptist Men

Reaching Men and Boys for Christ through Mission, Evangelism and Ministry.

Most American Baptist Churches have some form of Men's Ministry. It may be work parties, prayer breakfasts, service projects in the community. In some churches these activities are done informally. In others there are elaborate organizations. The National unit prepares resources to help the local group.  Many men have found it personally fulfilling to go on a Mission trip to a third world country while others have done similar things by helping Habitat for Humanity construct a home. When a natural Disaster hits many have gone to serve such as when the Ice storm hit Northern New York. If your Church needs help with program suggestions follow the Hot Links listed to find information about what others are doing.

There is a New York State Mens Ministry.  Each year they hold a Conference at Keuka College and share times of inspiration as well as share ideas. Check with your ABC Church for information. We will add it to the page when the plans are released for this years Conference.  There is also a National Conference at Green Lake, Wisconsin. We will list that when details are available.

Disaster Relief Tailer

The ABMEN of NYS equipped a Diaster Relief Trailer that could be used in situations like the Ice Storm or the Blow Down that we experienced recently.  If you would like to help contact Rev John Tharp at First Baptist Church, Penn Yan,  NY..
            1.  We are hoping to have a trailer equipped and ready to roll in six months. It will cost from $10,000 to $15,000.
Donations should  be sent to Rich Mastin payable to "NYS Baptist Men".  Indicate your donation is for
                   Diaster Relief.

            2. Appoint a contact person near where you live. In the event of a Diaster we would be able to contact that
person. Send the name to Rich.

            3. Begin to get training through the Red Cross or other agencies. Plan training events in your Association.

A group of men recently went to Sydney, Ny to assist homeowners after the June Floods.
